The new Greater Shepparton Secondary College single site will deliver state-of-the-art facilities to all our secondary students.

The contemporary new facilities of the school have been designed to improve student support and encourage engaged learning.

All Greater Shepparton Secondary College students will commence at the new site at the start of the 2022 school year.

Our new site

Our college’s new site will include:

  • an Enterprise and Innovation Centre featuring specialist precincts for technology, performing and fine arts and sciences student support, wellbeing and careers areas
  • a learning resource centre (library)
  • a gymnasium with at least two competition-sized basketball and netball courts, fitness and weights room, dance and yoga spaces
  • a central wellbeing hub
  • outdoor learning spaces
  • a choice of learning settings, general and specialist zones
  • VCE study space
  • a full-sized oval
  • a soccer pitch (Ford Reserve).

The site will be divided into three ‘neighbourhoods’. Each neighbourhood will be made up of three ‘houses’ and will host students from each year level. For more information about the houses, see: House model

Our Year 9 Greater Shepparton Secondary College students have more choices than ever on elective subjects, giving them great flexibility to explore the subject areas they are interested in. Students can choose from a range of elective offerings and will study 8 elective subjects for the year.

Students have the opportunity to apply to undertake a variety of extension electives.

Students also have access to My Career Portfolio – an online tool to help Year 9 students plan their education pathways and career goals. This supports their transition into senior secondary schooling.

Our Year 9 curriculum enables students to explore more subjects and hands-on learning opportunities, with a focus on personal growth and skills development.

The core subjects of English, Mathematics, Humanities, Health/Physical Education and Science are complemented by a range of subjects that build on the interests, strength and career goals of individual students.

All College elective subjects have been developed with input from teachers, local employers and industry.

Students have the opportunity to learn about the cultures and histories of the Goulburn-Murray region’s Indigenous people, through the Kaiela Dhungala First People curriculum.
