Executive Principal

Ms Barbara O'Brien

Barbara O’Brien is a highly experienced educator well known in the Goulburn Valley. A former principal of Wilmot Rd and Grahamvale Primary Schools, Ms O’Brien served as a regional leader of a network of local schools before being named the inaugural principal of Benalla P-12 College following its merger. At an Executive Principal level she worked in school improvement across the region and more recently, as the Senior Education Improvement Leader at Greater Shepparton Secondary College, before her appointment to Executive Principal, in 2021.

Campus and assistant principals

Mr Ken Murray (Campus Principal, Wanganui Campus)

Over a career spanning 38 years, Ken has been 11 years in his role as Principal at Wanganui Campus (previously Wanganui Park Secondary College). Ken is passionate about educating and brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the Greater Shepparton Secondary College.

Mrs Kerri Souter (Dougie) (Acting Campus principal, McGuire Campus)

Mrs Souter has been a Principal in Shepparton schools for sixteen years, and is currently the Network Chair for the Shepparton Urban Network. She brings a range of experiences in teaching and learning, engagement and wellbeing and has strong connections within the community.

Ms Karen Utber (Acting Campus Principal, Mooroopna Campus

Also known as Daisy, Karen has been teaching for 37 years, starting out at Croydon High School. She has a science background and a passion for biology. Karen previously held the position of Science Learning Area Leader and Assistant Principal during her time at the Wanganui Park Secondary College.

Mr Stephen Bolton (Acting Campus principal, Invergordon Campus)

Previously Mooroopna Campus Principal, Steve is now applying his vast experience at the Invergordon Campus. Steve plays a leading role in the implementation of specialist curriculum focusing on inquiry-based and experiential learning, student resilience and a sense of community.

Ms Megan Michalaidis (Assistant principal, Teaching and Learning)

Currently an Assistant Principal at McGuire College, Ms Michalaidis will continue to bring expertise in curriculum and instructional design, and will work across the three campuses to lead and shape the new college’s teaching and learning strategy.
