Dear Parents, Carers, Guardians and Students

All students enrolled at Greater Shepparton Secondary College are classed as Tier 1 primary close contacts and need to be tested for COVID-19 if they haven’t done so already. This requirement also applies to anyone else in your family identified by the Department of Health as having been exposed to a Tier 1 site.

Primary close contacts and their household members are to continue in quarantine for 14 days. They need to be tested on Day 13 and return a negative result before quarantine can be lifted on receipt of Department of Health advice. This test cannot occur before Day 13.

I have been advised by the Department of Health that Day 13 for our school community is Thursday, 2 September.

If you are unable to get tested on this day, you may do so on Day 14 or 15: Friday, 3 September or Saturday, 4 September.

Tier 1 secondary close contacts (household members) are not required to get tested on Day 13, but if they feel they need to be tested they should avoid doing so on 2 September. This date is for primary contacts only.

Remember, if you require food and other essentials please contact GV Cares at http://www.gslp.com.au/gvcares/. You can also call the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398 and choose the option for support for people with coronavirus (this includes food relief). If you need an interpreter, choose option 0 when you call the hotline.

Stay well, stay safe and thank you continuing to stay at home.

Sincerely,

Barbara O’Brien

Executive Principal
