Dear Parent/Guardian

The BIG YEAR!!!

This year is so important for our Year 12 students and on behalf of the College, we would like to invite you, as parents, to attend an information evening at the College. It will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s Home Group teachers or Pathway Mentor to perhaps share ideas to enable our students to get the most out of the year.

What is planned is an evening on Monday 7th February commencing at 6:00 pm in the Neighbourhood bleachers, with some general information giving an outline of the year; and the expectation of our Year 12 students regarding the coming to and from school; lunchtimes; driving cars; use of private study times and so on.

Please come into the College through Reception in the Enterprise Building. Entry is off Hawdon St. You will be greeted by a member of staff who will ask you to QR code check-in, check your vaccination status, then direct you toward the relevant Neighbourhood. You will need to be double vaccinated and wear a mask while inside a building. During the evening you will:

  • meet the Careers team
  • meet the Senior Secondary team
  • learn about SAC (School Assessed Coursework) tasks. What they are and when they are done
  • hear about the Work Placement program for VCAL students
  • hear about the supports that are in place at the College for your student
  • gain the added confidence as parents to approach the school, remembering you are always welcome at any time to come and seek information.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your Home Group teacher or Pathway Mentor. It should be the start of a team effort, with parents, students and teachers working together to make the year both enjoyable and successful.

Students are most welcome to attend with their parents, but this is not compulsory.

Hope to see you all on Monday night!
