Parents and carers are reminded they must register in advance each week to access on-site learning during Term 2. This is in line with strict protocols introduced by the Department of Education and Training for public schools across Victoria.

The application form for the week of 18 May - 22 May is available  document here (131 KB)  or on our Compass student management system. It must be completed and emailed to GSSC by Thursday, 14 May. Parents will be notified of their application's success or otherwise by the close of business on Friday, 15 May. All students accessing on-site learning will attend the Wanganui campus.

All students who can study from home must study from home, except for students in the following categories:

  1. Children on days when they are not able to be supervised from home and no other arrangements can be made. This will be available for children of parents who cannot work from home, and vulnerable children, in cluding: children in out-of-home care; children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm; children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service and children with a disability)
  2. For learning requirements that cannot be conducted via distance, and considering operational requirements, small groups of VCE and VCAL students are permitted to attend school, with appropriate physical distancing and hygiene measures in place.

Good partnerships between parents and carers, students and schools are vital to students succeeding and thriving at school. For Greater Shepparton Secondary College, this begins with the transition from primary school to secondary school.

Parents in Greater Shepparton are now receiving Transition Packs from their Year 6 son or daughter's primary school. This is to assist them in placement in Year 7 for the 2021 school year. Applications for placement close May 29, 2020.

The current covid-19 situation means that we haven’t been able to schedule on-site Information Sessions and visits to McGuire Campus, where our Year 7 students normally attend school. However we will be hosting a series of virtual open nights with the first one scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday May 12. Executive Principal Genevieve Simson, Campus Principal John Sciacca and our Transition Team will be online to talk about our Year 7 offering and answer your questions in real time. Please join us on “Teams” at

You can find out more about our Year 7 program via a  pdf welcome letter (298 KB)  from Ms Simson and Mr Sciacca and our  pdf promotional flyer (1.01 MB) . We also encourage parents, carers and prospective students to "meet" Mr Sciacca via the short informational video displayed on the Home Page of this website.
