The library is heavily used as the resource centre of the college supporting the curriculum needs and leisure reading needs of the school population.
It opens each morning at 8.30 am, is open over lunchtime and closes at 4pm.
Students who come in during their own time occupy themselves with a variety of activities including: homework, card and board games, leisure reading, browsing and borrowing. Wednesday lunchtime is designated Computer Games Day.
Other than print material and computer use the library offers photocopying and laminating services and loans out cameras and CD players to individuals requiring them for class exercises.
The library is well used on a daily basis with two classes accommodated in any session. The research side is booked on a needs basis by teachers requiring class access to the reference, non fiction print material and the 23 computers.
In addition, each form in Years 8-9 is booked into the library on the fiction side for one of their literacy periods per week whilst the Year 10 classes rotate through on a fortnightly basis.
